This outstanding gesha variety separation comes from Finca Esmeralda, the farm of award-winning Divino Niño producer, José Edwin Cuellar. We find plenty of ripe strawberry, melon, and juicy red pear flavors in the cup alongside layers of integrated florals that remind us of oolong tea

Passenger’s green buying team first visited Finca Esmeralda in 2019, shortly after José Edwin was recognized as the 3rd place winner of the inaugural Copa Suaceña (now the expanded Copa de Oro competition). Since that year, we have had the opportunity to taste many lots from his farm, but this 2024 harvest lot marks the first year that we were able to taste and contract a small separation of his gesha. While this small region of central Huila is not as widely recognized for its gesha as neighboring regions to the north or south, Edwin is clearly challenging that narrative with this lot.
