Two Dry Processed Reserve Lots from Gesha Village Estate

Continuing our annual tradition at Passenger, we are delighted to release two new outstanding coffees from Gesha Village Estate to our Reserve Lot menu. This year both selections are dry-processed lots from separate farm locations, or ‘blocks’, at Gesha Village Estate, named Oma and Surma. Each one offers a distinct flavor profile that captures what this legendary estate has achieved through a highly intentional focus on extraordinary plant genetics and meticulous processing methods.

Gesha Village Estate - Oma Dry Process

This Oma plot selection boasts an arresting fragrance of strawberry and ripe pineapple, complemented by an aroma of nuanced white florals and candied citrus. In the cup, broad tropical fruit complexity, as well as a candy-like peach and watermelon sweetness, is further accompanied by flavors of starfruit, jasmine, and sweet cream in the finish.

Gesha Village Estate - Surma Dry Process

Impressively structured and uniquely elegant in its presentation, this selection from the Surma plot at Gesha Village Estate balances floral, fruit, and browning sugar complexity with outstanding clarity in the cup. Striking aromatics of jasmine are accompanied by flavors of fresh raspberry, milk chocolate, orange peel, and a deeply sweet browning sugar sweetness that carries through a persistently floral finish.

A Washed Gesha Selection from Peruvian producer Ruther Farfan Quispe

Third-generation coffee producer, Ruther Farfan Quispe has built upon the knowledge of coffee production he inherited from his family with novel ideas adapted to today’s specialty market, and the results he has found are beautifully captured in this new Reserve Lot selection.

The aromatics of this unique expression of the gesha variety offer honeysuckle, delicate browning sugars, and an intriguing spiced quality reminiscent of cardamom and vanilla on the nose. In the cup, we find juicy Meyer lemon accompanied by delicately sweet flavors of apple, and poached pear, with an integrated base of sweet pastry, and nectarine in the finish.
