Francy Leonor Marín

While this is the first year Francy was the ‘Grand Campion’ of the Copa de Oro competition, her coffees have routinely placed among the finalists in years past. Based in the vereda of El Palmar, in the municipality of San Agustín, in southern Huila, Francy has been producing coffee for roughly seven years alongside her husband, Gilberto Hoyos Chilito. For Francy’s competition-winning lot, processing included an initial fermentation in whole cherry for 12 hours, followed by a second fermentation of 24 hours after pulping, before being washed and carefully dried on raised beds under a parabolic solar dryer.
