Every year, we have the opportunity to sample gesha separations from producers in Suaza who contribute to our Divino Niño Foundational and Divino Niño Gesha Education Lots. While there are certain producers whose gesha separations we have come to expect as standout selections each year, we are always thrilled when a newer name emerges from the cupping table. Isnardo Rodríguez Muñoz is one of those new names. In the cup we taste juicy plum and a delicate orange acidity amidst a mildly floral base of Assam tea and marzipan.

Isnardo Rodríguez Gesha

Third generation coffee producer Isnardo Rodríguez has been producing coffee at his family farm, La Argentina, for nearly 20 years. In addition to gesha, he produces a mix of bourbon varieties as well as pacamara, and also dedicates a large portion of his ten hectare farm to the production of Hass avocados. After picking, whole cherries selected for this lot were rested in ecotact bags for roughly two days before being pupled. The pulped coffee was then fermented in bags for an additional 50 hours before being washed and patio dried.
