Gentle browning sugars in the fragrance introduce a cup with delicate passionfruit and floral qualities, while the body delivers a plush caramel and vanilla custard sweetness that carries through the finish.

Following a long and distinguished career encompassing multiple coffee enterprises in the Tarrazu region, producer Ivan Gutierrez decided to focus on the production of top specialty coffee in 2014 with the acquisition of his farm, La Esmeralda. At roughly 2000 masl, the elevation of Ivan's farm in the San Marcos district of northern Tarrazu has historically been considered too cold for coffee production. Nonetheless, Ivan's determination has proven this area is capable of producing world-class specialty coffee, as evidenced by a number of his harvests achieving Cup of Excellence placements in recent years.
